Sweet moments on the Farm

The day has finally arrived! The one we have been planning for years.

Babies on the farm!

We borrowed a neighbors bull named Diego last May and anxiously waited nine months hoping he did his job.

Clara was first, her baby arrived sooner than expected and with a bit of a scare for all of us. She was afraid of it and luckily we had a couple seasoned farmers helping us get them in the barn and shortly after that Clara cleaned the little guy up and allowed his to nurse shortly after.

As new cow grandparents, we made a lot of mistakes and learned on the fly.

Like how we needed to separate the two momma’s.

We spent the next couple days rearranging the corral to accommodate all three. Thinking we had a week or so before the next one was expected. But once again we were caught off guard.

Belle’s baby arrived late at night in the dark and out of the protection of the corral. Our neighbor once again came to save the day or I should say the night.

We waited for baby number 2 to get his legs under him and we coaxed momma and baby into the protection of the corral.

Both momma’s are good first mothers and the boys are both thriving.
