So it has been almost a month without rain and things on the farm are so dry!

the girls are still enjoying a bit of clover growing despite the lack of rain.
We may not have the pretty reds of the glorious Maple, but you can still find beauty in a drought.

Fall is my favorite time of year! The kind of day that is filled with the smells of the first fall leaves changing their colors, jack-o-lanterns perched on front porches greeting visitors with their candle lite grins.
It is a gorgeous fall day in Missouri! The kind of day you just have to be outside! Doing anything, even raking leaves on such a day like this. The air was cool and crisp, but the sun is warm, like my favorite red and black plaid blanket, it wraps me in coziness!
It is the perfect jeans and a sweater kind of day. The beautiful fall colors fill the rolling countryside in this quaint little town we moved to just 3 years ago.
But the farmers need rain.
This is the time of year to bring in the crops and between the drought and winds, we have been under “Red Flag” warnings. I never knew until moving here that combines can cause fires! Our small volunteer fire department is on high alert!
